Episode 13: Livin' it Upstalk

In this episode our heroes discuss the newly released Upstalk. Eady gets very excited about the new NBN identity and very unexcited about a certain tag removal card. Also we both go into how we would make a Nasir deck. It’s better than severe chest pains. Guaranteed!

I thinkyou guys will like what The Root does here. It's a bit of a Supermodernism deck, though I only have the one core set so Scorched Earth is a little harder to pull consistently.

It keeps great economy, and with The Root I can build my agenda server, help rez Off the Grid on it, and advance/rez my ice on HQ to keep it them out while I keep scoring. I've only found myself low on credits once or twice with this deck.

The best part is people like to try and get into my Off the Grid server, so The Root generally stays un-touched. I'll be swapping out GRNDL for Blue Sun when that comes out, so the economy will become even more crazy.

  2. In the vein of Stronger Together decks that are better than they would be with ETF: http://netrunner.meteor.com/decks/nLTbD3JGxpNk4YFKg/

It's a taxing fast-advance-sort-of deck where every piece of ice is meant to be midrange - that is, able to be rezzed from the get-go but still relevant once they have their suite up. Now that Heinlein Grid is here it can properly enforce the taxing part, and because people assume you'll only be running bioroids they run very recklessly on their first clicks, which means you can get some hilarious punishment off with Neural Katana or Inazuma.

Also, False Lead + Heinlein Grid is just hilarious. The ideal play with this deck, which isn't hard to get off, is Ichi + Heinlein Grid with a False Lead scored. What the runner thought was going to be a walk in the park has cost them the rest of their turn, all their credits, 2 programs, a brain damage and a tag. At that point I'll be wearing the biggest, smuggest grin I've ever had.
